As we look ahead to the new campaign for LA 2028, we are pleased to congratulate Mateo Majdalani on stepping into the role of Nacra 17 President. This decision reflects not only a natural transition in leadership but also a recognition of the need for current sailors to have a stronger voice in representing the class.
Mateo is the perfect example of a well-rounded and fair public figure. Beyond his impressive achievements on the water—including a Silver medal at the Paris Olympics alongside Eugenia Bosco—Mateo has consistently been an active participant in discussions about the development and improvement of the Nacra 17 class. His dedication to the community and his thoughtful approach make him ideally suited to guide the class through the next chapter.
After years of exceptional leadership and dedication, since 2021, Santiago Lange has officially resigned as President of the Nacra 17 class. We extend our deepest gratitude to Santiago for his tireless commitment, vision, and unwavering support for the class. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Nacra 17 community and elevating the sport globally.
We look forward to the continued growth and success of the Nacra 17 under Mateo’s leadership and thank Santiago once again for everything he has done for the class.
