Job Opportunity – Full Time Contract – Media Professional for nacra17, FX, and Nacra 17
Description – The nacra17 and Nacra 17 fleets are seeking a media professional to produce content about our sailors and regattas, and communicate that to the public via our channels. We are seeking an entry level person who is enthusiastic about hanging around with our great group of sailors and telling their stories as they seek to do their best in the sport they love.
The candidate will be responsible for 37.5 hours of work per week, balancing content creation, primarily in video format, as well as ongoing posting and monitoring of our social media accounts and websites. During regattas, the role will be as part of a team and will vary depending on the size of the overall team and the best use of their skillset.
The ideal candidate will have some sailing experience, and be adept at modern media, especially within the video format and on Instagram, facebook, tiktok and youtube. We are seeking someone who can produce varied content, from artistic to journalistic and can grow into a role, learning the modern craft of media and developing their skillset through the contract.
A good command of the English language is required, as that is the common language spoken on the sailing circuit, though knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
The candidate will be responsible for posting to our channels, utilizing an extensive catalogue of existing content and creating new content.
The role will report to the Class Manager. Programming will be planned at monthly intervals with the class manager to fit the themes of the racing calendar as we move toward the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Remuneration to be commensurate with experience. The contract will begin as soon as a suitable candidate is found, and will conclude at the end of August 2024. The candidate must be legal to work and travel in Europe. Extensive travel will be required within Europe to follow the teams through the circuit. There will also be periods of remote working. Costs of travel will be compensated and a limited equipment budget will be provided.
The International nacra17 Class Association and International Nacra 17 Class Association represent 3 of the 10 Olympic sailing Events and will be part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
