Federico Figlia di Granara / Caterina Sedmak

Federico Figlia di Granara is one of Italy's fast-rising Nacra 17 talents, having only switched into the foiling catamaran in January 2025.

Paired with Caterina Sedmak from May that year, he made an immediate impact: the duo were named Nacra 17 Rookie Team of the Year for 2025 after winning the Junior European Championship and taking bronze at the Under-24 Worlds.

They have carried that momentum into the senior fleet as they target Los Angeles 2028.

Caterina Sedmak came to the Nacra 17 in March 2025, switching across from the 49erFX after an injury ended her previous skiff partnership.

Teaming with Federico Figlia di Granara, she adapted remarkably quickly: the pair were crowned Nacra 17 Rookie Team of the Year for 2025, won the Junior European title and claimed Under-24 World bronze.

Sedmak and Figlia di Granara are among the most promising young crews heading toward LA 2028.
