Skipper
Iker Martinez
Spain

Iker Martinez de Lizarduy is one of the towering figures of Spanish sailing. With Xabier Fernandez he won 49er gold at the Athens 2004 Olympics and silver at Beijing 2008, and the pair were triple 49er World Champions, a record that earned them the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year award in 2011.

Martinez's talents extend far beyond the Olympic dinghy. He is a celebrated offshore sailor, having skippered Spanish entries, Team Telefonica and later MAPFRE, in the Volvo Ocean Race, the gruelling round-the-world contest, competing in three editions of the event.

From 2013 he turned his attention to the Nacra 17, sailing the mixed catamaran with crew Olga Maslivets as he sought a new Olympic challenge. His blend of Olympic, world-championship and round-the-world pedigree makes him one of the most complete sailors the sport has known.

Olga Maslivets is an experienced Olympic sailor who crewed for the great Iker Martinez in Spain's Nacra 17 campaign. A windsurfing Olympian earlier in her career, she finished fourth in the RS:X at the London 2012 Games and competed at multiple Olympics, bringing elite athleticism and big-event experience to the foiling catamaran.

Teaming with one of the sport's most decorated names, Maslivets was part of Spain's push in the Nacra 17 during the Tokyo cycle.

Her cross-discipline background reflects the all-round athletic demands of the mixed multihull.
