Van der Velden and Visser representing ARUBA

Nicole van der Velden (21) and Thijs Visser (26) are representing Aruba at the Olympic Games in Rio the Janeiro in August 2016. Van der Velden and Visser qualified their country at the Nacra17 World in July 2015 by finishing in the top ten. They are the first athletes in the history of Aruba to qualify the country for the Olympics.

Last two Olympic spots decided in Palma

The 47th edition of the Trofeo Princesa Sofía IBEROSTAR for Olympic, Paralympic classes and the Dragon class to be held from 25th March to 2nd April in the bay of Palma, registers a record participation in an Olympic year. In the Nacra17 Class the last two Olympic spots will be decided. For two of the 18 countries who already have their ticket to Rio, the event in Palma is part of the team selection.

With around one thousand sailors from approximately 55 nations, the Trofeo Princesa Sofía IBEROSTAR is one of the most important Olympic Sailing events in Europe. This year it reaches its 47th edition to be held from 25th March to 2nd April in the bay of Palma and it is a qualification event for Rio 2016.

Clearwater, FL. Day four of the Nacra 17 World Championship went off without a hitch. The less than stellar wintery weather that Clearwater has produced has now subsided, and finally the sailors were able to sail in nearly perfect conditions out on the Gulf of Mexico.

Ozzies Waterhouse / Darmanin make a move on light air day

Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin made the best of a light airs day three at the Nacra 17 Worlds to move to 3rd overall after the young Australians scored 5,4,1. It was a long day on the water, almost six hours, so maintaining concentration was difficult, but absolutely key.
