Lucas Claeyssens / Eline Verstraelen

Lucas Claeyssens is a catamaran specialist who came up through the Nacra 15, winning Youth Worlds bronze in 2017, before moving into the Olympic Nacra 17.

With Eline Verstraelen, a partnership formed in late 2023, he made his Olympic debut at Paris 2024, finishing 19th.

The Belgian pair continue to develop on the international circuit as they build toward Los Angeles 2028.

Eline Verstraelen, 22, from Kapellen, took an unusual route into the Nacra 17.

She first made her name in single-handed dinghies, winning European silver in the Laser Radial (ILCA 6) in 2018 and the U21 world title in 2022, before switching to the foiling catamaran with Lucas Claeyssens.

The pair qualified for and raced at the Paris 2024 Olympics, 19th in their debut Games, and are pressing on toward LA 2028.
