Nathan Outteridge
Australia

Nathan Outteridge is one of the most accomplished sailors of his generation. He announced himself at the London 2012 Olympics, winning 49er gold with Iain Jensen, and added 49er silver four years later at Rio 2016, the culmination of a skiff partnership that also delivered multiple World Championship titles. Across the Moth, 29er, 49er, Farr 40 and Nacra 17 he has collected an astonishing 19 world championship medals, including nine golds.

After London he became a central figure in professional foiling, helming Artemis Racing in the America's Cup and skippering the Japan SailGP Team to the front of that championship. His pedigree at the cutting edge of the sport is matched by few.

For the Tokyo 2020 cycle, Outteridge returned to the Olympic arena in the Nacra 17 alongside his sister Haylee, the siblings reuniting in a boat for the first time since childhood. His career has since continued at the very top, including a role as skipper of Emirates Team New Zealand's America's Cup campaign.

Haylee Outteridge is an Australian sailor with deep skiff and multihull experience across the 49erFX, 29er, Moth and Nacra 17. She took bronze at the 2009 29er World Championship and rose to No. 5 in the world in the 49erFX in 2012, building a strong career in her own right.

For the Tokyo 2020 Olympic cycle she teamed up with her brother Nathan, one of the sport's greats, in the mixed Nacra 17, the pair sailing together competitively for the first time since they were children. The family partnership was one of the most charming stories in the fleet.

Together the Outteridge siblings brought a rare combination of pedigree and chemistry to the Nacra 17, and Haylee remains among the most experienced female skiff and catamaran sailors Australia has produced.
