Among the standout names in the 24-boat fleet, representing 17 countries, are Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco, silver medallists at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and one of the leading crews on the international circuit. Their performances this season, including runner-up finishes at the World Cup events in Palma and Hyères, underline their credentials as contenders for the top places.
They will face strong opposition from Sweden’s Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson, the reigning European champions, who have also claimed victory this season at two major international events in Palma and Los Angeles. Their recent results put them firmly among the crews to watch in Valencian waters, in a fleet featuring sailors accustomed to competing at the highest level.
New Zealand’s entry adds another prominent name to the list of contenders. Micah Wilkinson, who won Olympic bronze at Paris 2024 alongside Erica Dawson, is now sailing with Kate Stewart as he embarks on a new chapter in his sporting career. The pair are working under Spanish coach Antón Paz as they seek to establish themselves among the leading crews in the class.
The presence of these teams underlines the appeal of the Real Club Náutico de Valencia as a training base for international Olympic sailing. València’s sailing conditions and the club’s facilities provide an ideal setting for crews to develop their training programmes and prepare for their major sporting objectives.
Technology at the service of competition
The regatta is supported by Sailteck, a company specialising in technological solutions for the management of sailing competitions. Its Sailteck LIVE system enables the race committee to monitor the starting line and track boats by GPS, while also recording their courses throughout each race.
The platform transmits fleet data to the race committee boat via a dedicated radio network, without relying on mobile phone coverage. This technology helps the committee monitor starting procedures, track the boats and analyse the course of each race afterwards.

València, a stage for Olympic sailing
Beyond the results, the Nacra Cup València offers the club and the city an opportunity to bring top-level Olympic sailing closer to the public and the local sailing community. The presence of international teams preparing for their next major challenges makes the event a showcase for the work carried out throughout the year beyond the major championship calendar.
For the club’s young sailors, sharing facilities and spending time alongside Olympic medallists and continental champions also provides a valuable learning opportunity and a direct insight into the demands of international competition. With the Nacra 17 class taking centre stage, València once again reinforces its position on the international Olympic sailing map.
