Mateo Majdalani / Eugenia Bosco

Mateo Majdalani was born July 15, 1994, in Buenos Aires. As a junior he raced the 29er, winning bronze at the 2012 Worlds in Travemünde. His path into elite sailing came when Rio 2016 gold medalists Santiago Lange and Cecilia Carranza brought him on as their coach for the Rio Games while he was still a student — the experience convinced him to commit fully to the sport. He began sailing the Nacra 17 with Eugenia Bosco in 2017, effectively inheriting the role Lange/Carranza had held for Argentina: silver at the 2019 Pan Am Games, gold at the 2023 Pan Am Games, and Paris 2024 Olympic silver. Mateo is the current president of the Nacra 17 class association.

Eugenia Bosco was born June 12, 1997, in San Pedro, Buenos Aires Province. She partnered Mateo Majdalani from 2017: silver at the 2019 Pan Am Games, gold at the 2023 Pan Am Games, and Paris 2024 Olympic silver, one of Argentina's two sailing medals of the Games. In January 2025, Bosco spoke publicly for the first time about experiencing sexual abuse as a young Optimist sailor, a memory she has said resurfaced during her Olympic campaign after remaining suppressed for years. She has since become an outspoken advocate for athlete safety, describing the decision to come forward as an achievement she ranks alongside her Olympic medal.
