Majdalani and Bosco lie second on 19 points, ahead of New Zealand’s Wilkinson and Stewart in third on 23
The fleet completes three races after a lengthy wait ashore due to a lack of wind
València, 22 October 2026
Sweden’s Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson have taken the overall lead at the Nacra València Cup, organised by the RCN de Valencia, after the fleet completed the three scheduled races on the second day of competition. The Swedish crew overtakes Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco, silver medallists at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, who had led the standings after the opening day.
A lack of wind in València kept the fleet ashore for much of the day. The first warning signal, initially scheduled for 12:00, was postponed until 15:00. From then on, an easterly breeze of 7–8 knots allowed the race committee to complete the planned three-race programme.

Järudd and Jonsson, who started the day in second place overall, move into the lead with 13 net points after discarding their tenth-place finish in the sixth race. Their results across Thursday’s three races were 3-1-10, added to their opening-day scores of 3-1-5.
Majdalani and Bosco, meanwhile, relinquish the lead and drop to second place on 19 points, with scores of 7-8-8 in Thursday’s races. New Zealand’s Micah Wilkinson and Kate Stewart remain third on 23 points, following a 12-5-9 scoreline.

Sweden’s Ida Svensson and Marcus Dackhammar occupy fourth place on 27 net points, with results of 2-9-17. Austria’s Lukas Haberl and Clara Stamminger follow in fifth on 34 points, after scoring 6-9-4.
Spain’s representatives, siblings Daniel and Nora García de la Casa of Club Nàutic El Masnou, lie tenth overall on 45 net points. After opening the regatta with two fifth-place finishes and an eleventh, the Spanish crew recorded 18-13-11 on Thursday.
The top ten in the overall standings is completed as follows: Sweden’s Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson lead on 13 points, followed by Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco on 19 and New Zealand’s Micah Wilkinson and Kate Stewart on 23. Sweden’s Ida Svensson and Marcus Dackhammar are fourth on 27 points, ahead of Austria’s Lukas Haberl and Clara Stamminger in fifth on 34. The United States’ Stephan Baker and Sophia Fisher are sixth on 36, Turkey’s Sinem Kurtbay and Alican Kaynar seventh on 43, and Switzerland’s Marie Mazuay and Clément Guignard eighth on 44. Australia’s Ruben Booth and Rita Booth are ninth, also on 44 points, while Spain’s Daniel and Nora García de la Casa complete the top ten in tenth place on 45 points.

Organised by the RCN de Valencia, the Nacra València Cup brings together 24 crews from 17 countries for an international regatta in the Olympic Nacra 17 class. For some of the competing teams, the event also forms part of their preparations for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
