Argentina’s Majdalani-Bosco and Sweden’s Järudd-Jonsson are separated by just one point, on 27 and 28 points respectively. The battle for bronze is also wide open, with New Zealand’s Wilkinson and Stewart just five points ahead of Sweden’s Svensson and Dackhammar
Four races were completed on the penultimate day, with Saturday’s first warning signal brought forward to 10:30 a.m. due to the forecast of highly unfavourable wind conditions

València, 23 octobre 2026
The penultimate day of the Nacra València Cup at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia took place in favourable conditions, with winds averaging 12 knots from 240°. This allowed the fleet to complete four races, one more than the three originally scheduled.
The race committee decided on Thursday to extend the programme in view of the favourable forecast for Friday, aiming to complete additional races ahead of Saturday, when very light winds are expected.
Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco have regained the lead in the provisional standings with 27 points, just one point ahead of Sweden’s Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson on 28. With such a narrow margin separating the two crews, the title remains wide open heading into the final day.
Today’s wind and sea conditions off València were, on paper, more favourable for the Argentine crew. Majdalani and Bosco made the most of the conditions to reclaim the lead, recording finishes of 3-1-1-3 across the four races. Back-to-back wins in races eight and nine proved decisive in putting them back at the top of the standings.

Järudd and Jonsson, meanwhile, recorded finishes of 2-3-5-5 across the day’s four races. Two consecutive fifth-place finishes to close out the day cost them the lead, although they remain just one point behind the Argentinians and firmly in contention for the title.
The battle for third place is also wide open. New Zealand’s Micah Wilkinson and Kate Stewart hold third position with 51 points, ahead of Sweden’s Ida Svensson and Marcus Dackhammar on 56. Just five points separate the two crews in the overall standings, leaving the fight for the final spot on the podium undecided.
Wilkinson and Stewart recorded finishes of 1-15-3-12, with their 15th-place finish in Race 8 counting as their discard. Svensson and Dackhammar posted 5-10-10-4, with a fourth-place finish in the final race keeping them in contention and maintaining the pressure on the New Zealanders.
Among the Spanish competitors, the Catalan crew of Dani and Nora García de la Casa, representing Club Nàutic El Masnou, will head into the final day aiming to return to the top ten in the Nacra València Cup. The siblings have dropped one place to 11th, with 87 points, just one point behind Australia’s Ruben and Rita Booth, who lie tenth on 86. The Catalan crew therefore remain within striking distance of the top ten, with the narrow points gap keeping their chances alive. Their finishes today were 10-13-13-6.
The Nacra València Cup will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, with the final day of racing off València. With the title still to be decided between Argentina and Sweden, the battle for bronze unresolved and the Catalan crew still within reach of a top-ten finish, the final day will determine the overall standings in this international Olympic sailing event.
