Paul Kohlhoff is one of Germany's standout multihull sailors, the helm of the Nacra 17 crew that won bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. After a penalty left them deep in the field in the medal race, Kohlhoff and Alica Stuhlemmer fought back superbly to secure the podium, having already shared junior European and world titles in 2017.
Kohlhoff has since taken his foiling skills into the professional arena as part of the Germany SailGP Team, racing the high-speed F50 catamarans at the front of that global championship.
A bold, attacking helm, he has been a leading figure in German Olympic sailing and an inspiration to the country's deep new generation of skiff and catamaran talent.
Alica Stuhlemmer crewed Germany to Nacra 17 bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where, at just 22, she was the youngest sailor to win a medal across all the sailing disciplines at those Games. The result came after a gutsy fightback in the medal race alongside helm Paul Kohlhoff.
The pair had already announced themselves by winning both the Junior European and Junior World titles in 2017, marking them as one of the brightest young crews in the class. Stuhlemmer's composure under pressure belied her years.
After her Olympic success she later turned to the iQFOiL windsurfing class, continuing to chase her Olympic ambitions in a new discipline.
