John Gimson is one of the most successful sailors in the Nacra 17 class. With Anna Burnet he won Olympic silver at Tokyo 2020, Britain's first medal in the class, along with two World Championship titles (2020 and 2021) and three European crowns (2021, 2023 and 2025).

The experienced helm and Burnet added World Championship bronze at Quiberon in 2026, underlining their enduring place at the front of the fleet.

Gimson continues to pursue more Olympic glory toward Los Angeles 2028.

Anna Burnet, from Scotland, crews for John Gimson in Britain's flagship Nacra 17.

Together they made history with Olympic silver at Tokyo 2020, the nation's first medal in the foiling catamaran, and have since amassed two world titles, three European titles and, most recently, World Championship bronze in 2026.

One of the standout crews of the era, Burnet and Gimson remain medal contenders heading toward Los Angeles 2028.
